IS THERE A LARGE MINIMUM ORDER THAT MUST BE MET?

This is a common misconception of importing steel products. All manufacturers will accept orders as low as 25 Metric Tons. Just-in-time inventory models have forced mills around the world to adapt to your needs as a competitive distributor of industrial steel products.

WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FOR IMPORT STEEL?

The global standard is 90 days ex-mill. Many mills have a wide range of sizes that they offer. With orders that have many items they need time to run the different tools and dyes to fulfill each line item on an order. Of course if the order is more focused with less items 90 days can be reduced to 60, 30 or even 10 days depending if the mill has said items in stock ready to ship. Purchasing managers should add another 30-40 days ocean transit and 5-10 days in land transportation to the ex-mill days in order to get a realistic delivery date for import orders.
